My name is Tzu-Ying Ho. Taiwan is my homeland. When I was young, many animated films and television programs fascinated me, including Japanese cartoons, Mazinger Z and Hutch the Honeybee, and the animated films of Studio Ghibli, as well as the films of Walt Disney and Pixar such as The Lion King and the Toy Story series.

Helping me to fulfill my dream of being an animator, I completed a Master of Fine Arts in 3D Animation from Academy of Art University in San Francisco. My studies included animation classes as well as motion capture, and the foundations of modeling, texturing, rigging, lighting and rendering in Maya.

With the MFA completed, I am excited to create animation with meaningful messages. Two additional inspirations are the animation of a Taiwan studio MoonShine that created the “StarWonderers” short and also SpongeBob SquarePants. That is one of my favorite animated characters.

SpongeBob is optimistic and is full of energy. He is contented and is friendly to everyone. As am employee, he loves his job and always does his best to satisfy the needs of his customers and boss. He can also overcome the adversity and challenging circumstances in his life. I really admire his personality traits and I am inspired by him. As an animator, I always want to create a character who has an adorable appearance with a humble, and positive attitude. I hope that the characters I create can bring joy to the audiences of all ages.

I am working hard to achieve my goal as a professional animator, and will not give up. Here is one of my favorite quotes from SpongeBob SquarePants, “If you believe in yourself, with a tiny pinch of magic, all your dreams can come true.”
